About Us: Why Bharat Oncology?
We are a team of doctors with almost 50 years of collective experience of serving patients.
India faces a dual burden: an increasing cancer load and unequal distribution of resources. Urban centers boast specialized cancer hospitals and trained oncologists, while rural and semi-urban areas often lack even basic diagnostic and treatment facilities.
We have created Bharat Oncology to solve the problem of ACCESS & AFFORDABILITY for cancer patients in India.
OUR STORY
Bharat Oncology is borne out of the need to solve the problems of ACCESS and AFFORDABILITY for cancer patients in India.
Dr. Abha talked to hundreds of cancer patients and families in smaller cities and towns in Northern India. These patients and families shared two common concerns:
- Distance: cancer treatment is not a one-time trip especially when it comes to chemotherapy. Patient have to make repeated trips of hundreds of kilometers to receive chemo in nearby larger cities. This is burdensome as it is. Imaging doing it when you are feeling nausea, fatigue and exhaustion from the chemo and the cancer diagnosis.
- Cost: many ‘fancy’ corporate hospitals in big cities are unaffordable to patients from smaller cities and towns. Their out-of-pocket costs are high. They often do not accept government insurance card such as Ayushman card.
The cost of the travel adds to this financial burden as many patients do not have transport vehicles. Additionally, many times the family members also have to take time off to accompany patients for chemo treatments. They have to forgo their daily wages which compounds the hardship.
At Bharat Oncology, we believe that access to cancer treatment shouldn’t depend on where you live or how much you can pay.
We bring high-quality chemotherapy centers to the heart of small towns and cities across Northern India.

We accept insurance plans including Ayushman card where most corporate hospitals do not accept the government insurance. We also provide affordable rates if paying out-of-pocket. Our friendly counselors will provide you affordable options.

- We plan to launch 50 day-care chemo centers across Northern India—so families can get treated without uprooting their lives. Our first center is in Kurukshtra, Haryana.
